Front Teeth Veneers

What are front teeth veneers?

Thin ceramic shells bonded to the front surface of your front teeth to change their color, shape, size and alignment. Blanche veneers are only ever no-prep, with no drilling, or minimal-prep, with less than 0.1 mm of reshaping.

Also called a front teeth makeover or cosmetic front teeth treatment.

Concerns in detail

Same front teeth concern, different approach depending on the cause

Whether your front teeth look off because of color, size, shape or alignment changes the approach. Once the cause is clear, whether drilling can be avoided and how many teeth are needed tend to follow naturally.

01

Gaps between front teeth · black triangles

This is when there’s a gap between the two central front teeth, or dark triangular spaces near the gums. Because we close the gaps by widening the teeth slightly, this concern suits no-prep veneers well.

If the gap is wide, enlarging only the two central teeth can make them look too big. So we also compare sharing the extra width with the side teeth, or narrowing the gap with braces first.

02

Small front teeth · small side teeth (microdontia)

This is when the side teeth are noticeably small or pointed, leaving gaps in your smile line. Because ceramic is added to make up the missing width and length, most cases can be done without drilling.

If only the small teeth are enlarged, they can end up close in size to the central teeth and look odd, so it’s important to keep a natural size difference between the central and side teeth.

03

Bunny teeth · large central front teeth

This is when only the two central front teeth look large or stick out. Bonding directly over teeth that are already big makes them look even thicker, so we consider minimal-prep of less than 0.1 mm.

Refining the length of the central teeth while balancing the volume of the side teeth makes them stand out less, even at the same size. If they protrude a lot, we compare with braces as well.

04

Discolored or stained front teeth

Surface stains from coffee or tea can sometimes be lightened with whitening, but discoloration that runs deep into the tooth, or a front tooth that darkened after root canal treatment, is often hard to fix with whitening alone.

Veneers let us set a new shade, so they’re used for this kind of discoloration. Very dark discoloration can be hard to mask with thin ceramic, so we use minimal-prep of less than 0.1 mm to match the color reliably.

05

Chipped or worn front teeth

This is when the edge of a front tooth has chipped slightly, or has become short and flat over years of use. We restore the lost length and shape with ceramic.

To keep it from chipping again, we first look at why it chipped. We check where it meets the lower front teeth and any grinding or clenching habits, and if the chip goes deep, we advise other treatment first.

06

Overlapping or crooked front teeth

If a front tooth is slightly rotated, or one or two sit a little further back, veneers can even out the line you see from the front.

If the overlap is severe or the teeth are strongly tilted, veneers alone may look bulky or require more reshaping. In that case, we work with our orthodontic specialist to compare whether to start with braces.

How many teeth

Front teeth veneers: how we decide the number

How many teeth show when you smile differs from person to person. That’s why we don’t fix a number in advance; we decide it together by looking at your smile.

Front teeth veneers by number of teeth
NumberTeeth coveredWho we consider it for
2 teethThe two central front teethOnly the two central teeth are chipped, or only they differ in color or size
4 teethCentral + side front teethThere’s a gap between your front teeth, or small side teeth throw off the proportions
6 teethUp to the caninesYour canines show when you smile, and you want an even smile line overall
8–10 teethUp to the premolarsMany side teeth show when you smile, and you want to brighten the overall color

Four criteria for deciding the number

  • How many teeth show when you smile
  • How far the teeth you’re concerned about extend
  • Whether the color blends naturally with the teeth left untreated
  • Whether the proportions suit your face shape and lip line

Can just one or two teeth look natural?

Yes. Made to match the color and translucency of your remaining teeth, even one or two veneers can blend in naturally. If the color difference with neighboring teeth is large, though, treating more teeth may be better, so we explain both options.

Comparing cosmetic front teeth treatments

Bonding, veneers, crowns or braces: which suits your front teeth?

Cosmetic treatment for front teeth doesn’t always mean veneers. Depending on the cause and the condition of your teeth, another method may suit you better, so at the consultation we explain all four side by side.

Comparing cosmetic front teeth treatments

BracesMoves the teeth themselvesLarge gaps, severe overlap or protrusion, or bite problemsTooth color and size stay the same, so veneers are sometimes added after braces

Blanche works with an orthodontic specialist, so we can compare in one place whether braces, veneers or a combination of both is the better choice for you.

No-prep front teeth

Can front teeth be done without drilling?

Small or gapped front teeth are well suited to veneers without drilling. Front teeth that protrude or are already large get less than 0.1 mm of reshaping so they don’t look bulky.

No-prep

Front teeth that need no drilling

Small front teeth, gapped front teeth, front teeth where you only want to change the color

Minimal-prep

Front teeth that need slight reshaping

Protruding front teeth, front teeth that are already large, very dark discoloration

Treat first

Front teeth that need treatment first

Gum inflammation, decay or severe teeth grinding

Front teeth design

Natural-looking front teeth need six things to work together

Teeth that are simply white and straight can actually look fake. For front teeth to look like your own, not just the color but also translucency, proportions and lines need to suit your face.

Color

Brightness that suits your face and remaining teeth

We set the brightness by looking at your skin tone, lip color and the color of the teeth that aren’t being treated. The whitest shade isn’t always the most natural.

Translucency

A clear look at the edges

Natural teeth let a little light through toward the edges. Without this translucency, teeth look flat and artificial even when the color matches.

Length

How they relate to your lips

We set the length by how much of your front teeth shows with your mouth relaxed and slightly open, and when you smile. Too short can look aged; too long can look overpowering.

Width ratio

Central teeth · side teeth · canines

It looks natural when the central teeth are widest and the side teeth and canines appear gradually narrower. Making every tooth the same size looks unnatural.

Smile line

An edge line that follows your lower lip

When the line along the edges of your front teeth gently follows the curve of your lower lip as you smile, it gives a relaxed look. A perfectly straight edge line can look stiff.

Gum line

Left–right balance along the top of the teeth

If the gums cover the teeth to very different heights on each side, the teeth look different in length too. At the consultation, we look at the gum line as well when deciding tooth shape.

Front teeth veneers: how your day goes

With the one-day option, consultation to bonding usually takes 4–5 hours on the day, or 5–6 hours for more teeth. It’s usually done without anesthesia or temporary veneers; we use anesthesia only when needed.

  1. 01

    Consultation & exam

We check your smile, gums, decay and bite, and decide how many teeth are needed and whether no-prep or minimal-prep applies.

  2. 02

    Front teeth design

We decide color, length, width ratio and smile line together to suit your face.

  3. 03

    3D scan

A 3D intraoral scanner measures your teeth, so there’s no need to bite on impression material for long.

  4. 04

    Made at Blanche Lab

Our in-house lab, Blanche Lab, makes your veneers from Swiss ceramic the same day.

  5. 05

    Check, then bond

We check the color and shape together in the mirror, bond the veneers, then check your bite to finish.

After front teeth veneers

Life after treatment: what to know

You can go about your day as usual from the day your veneers are bonded. Front teeth are what you bite into food with, though, so changing a few habits helps them last longer and stay comfortable.

Speech

Because the teeth are not drilled or only slightly reshaped, thickness changes little. If the length or shape of your front teeth has changed, your tongue may feel odd for the first few days, but most people get used to it quickly.

Eating

You can eat normally. It’s best to avoid biting into hard things like ice, hard candy or food with bones using your front teeth.

Care

Brush and floss as usual. Regular check-ups to keep tartar from building up along the edges help them last longer.

Habits that help them last

  • Cut hard food into small pieces and chew with your back teeth
  • Brush and floss consistently
  • Have the edges and gums checked regularly
  • If you grind your teeth, ask about a protective guard

Habits to avoid

  • Biting ice or hard things with your front teeth
  • Opening bottle caps or packaging with your teeth
  • Biting your nails or pens
  • Waiting a long time after a veneer feels loose or chipped

Choosing a clinic

What to check when choosing a clinic for your front teeth

Blanche · We look at which teeth show when you smile, how far your concerns extend and how the color connects with your remaining teeth, and recommend only the teeth you need.
03Do you explain options other than veneers?
Blanche · We work with an orthodontic specialist and compare braces and veneers side by side.
04Who designs and makes my veneers?
Blanche · Blanche Signature PLATINUM is handled personally by Dr. Taehyung Kim, Chief Director. Veneers are made at Blanche Lab, our in-house lab, in direct contact with the treatment room.

FAQ

Front teeth veneers: frequently asked questions

How many front teeth veneers do I need?
We decide between 2, 4, 6 or 8–10 teeth based on how many teeth show when you smile and where your concerns are. Our principle is to treat only the teeth you need, and we don’t recommend a number in advance.
Can I get veneers on just my two front teeth?
If only the two central front teeth are chipped or a different color, two can be enough. We make them to match the color and translucency of your remaining teeth so they blend in naturally.
How much do front teeth veneers cost in Korea?
Per tooth: Blanche BASIC KRW 650,000 (≈ USD 480), Blanche PLATINUM KRW 850,000 (≈ USD 625) and Blanche Signature PLATINUM KRW 1,500,000 (≈ USD 1,105). The one-day option adds KRW 200,000 per tooth (VAT excluded).
Gap between my front teeth: braces or veneers?
If the gap is small and slightly wider teeth would still look natural, veneers can close it without braces. If the gap is large or the teeth need to move, braces may be the better fit, so we compare both with our orthodontic specialist.
Can a chipped front tooth be fixed with a veneer?
If the chip is at the edge or on the surface of the tooth, a veneer can restore its shape. If it goes deep, close to the nerve, other treatment may be needed first, and we advise you after an exam.
Can front teeth veneers be done in one day?
Yes. With the one-day option, consultation to bonding usually takes 4–5 hours, or 5–6 hours for more teeth.
Will my front teeth be sensitive after veneers?
Because little or nothing is removed, sensitivity is less of a concern. Depending on your teeth, you may feel mild sensitivity for a few days; if it continues, we check it right away.
4 or 6 front teeth veneers: which should I choose?
A key factor is whether your canines show when you smile. If they show clearly and only 4 teeth are done, the boundary in color and shape may be visible, so we consider 6. We decide after checking your smile photos.
Do front teeth veneers mean removing a lot of tooth?
Blanche only does fully no-prep or minimal-prep under 0.1 mm. Small or gapped front teeth aren’t drilled; front teeth that protrude or are large, or very dark discoloration, get less than 0.1 mm of reshaping so they don’t look bulky. Both methods cost the same.
Do I need anesthesia or temporary veneers?
Usually neither. Depending on your teeth, we use anesthesia only when needed.
Can veneers get rid of black triangles?
The dark triangular spaces near the gums can be filled by naturally widening the teeth toward the gums. Most cases are done without drilling, and if there’s gum inflammation, we treat it first.
Can I do just my small side teeth (microdontia)?
Yes. Adding width and length to small side teeth fills out the line of your front teeth. We make sure a natural size difference from the central teeth remains, and at the consultation we compare whether the central teeth should be included too.
Do bunny teeth need to be reshaped?
If the central front teeth are already large or stick out, bonding directly over them can look thicker, so we consider minimal-prep under 0.1 mm. If they protrude a lot, we also compare braces with our orthodontic specialist.
Can a single front tooth that darkened after a root canal be fixed?
Yes. We match it so the color connects with your remaining teeth, and for very dark teeth we use minimal-prep under 0.1 mm to match the color reliably. If the tooth is significantly weakened, another treatment may suit it better, and we advise you after an exam.
Will front teeth veneers change the way I speak?
Because the teeth are not drilled or only slightly reshaped, thickness changes little, so speech is rarely a concern. If the length or shape changes, it may feel odd for the first few days, but most people get used to it quickly.
When can I eat after treatment?
You can eat normally from the day they’re bonded. Biting into ice or hard things with your front teeth can cause chipping or detachment, though, so it’s best avoided.
I’ve finished braces but still have a gap or small teeth.
Small gaps or small side teeth left after braces are often well suited to no-prep veneers. We check your bite and gums, then advise how many teeth are needed.
What’s the warranty on front teeth veneers?
By plan: Blanche BASIC 1 year, Blanche PLATINUM 5 years and Blanche Signature PLATINUM 10 years. All three plans use Swiss ceramic.
Can old front teeth veneers be replaced?
Yes. We remove existing veneers by laser and remake them without drilling your teeth further. Cost and process are the same as for new veneers, and replacement can also be done in one day.
