Before and after by concern

Actual Blanche one-day cases

Each of these was completed in a single day with Blanche no-prep veneers: no drilling at all, or reshaping of less than 0.1 mm.

All photos on this page are actual cases photographed at Blanche Dental Clinic, and as a rule we only publish photos of patients who have agreed to it. The notes under each photo describe how Blanche usually approaches that concern; the actual treatment and results differ from person to person depending on their teeth.

About these cases

How we approached each of these cases

Each concern calls for different checks and different design points. All five cases were no-prep or minimal-prep under 0.1 mm, and finished within a day.

01

Black triangles · Gaps between front teeth

  • ConcernWhen you smile, dark triangles or gaps show between the teeth, close to the gums.
  • ApproachGaps can often be closed just by adding a thin layer to the sides of the teeth, so we look at no-prep, with no drilling, first.
  • Design pointWe close the gaps while balancing width and length, and shaping the margin at the gum line, so no single tooth ends up looking wide.
  • TimeCompleted in one day with the one-day option.
02

Small teeth · Microdontia

  • ConcernSmall or short front teeth barely show when you smile, which can look childlike or leave the smile looking empty.
  • ApproachThe goal is to make teeth bigger, so in most cases nothing needs to be drilled. We build them up no-prep to the right size.
  • Design pointBigger isn’t automatically better. We first set a length that suits your lip line and face width, then make sure the sizes step down naturally to the neighboring teeth.
  • TimeCompleted in one day with the one-day option.
03

Bunny teeth · Large front teeth

  • ConcernOnly the two central front teeth look noticeably large or long, out of balance with the rest.
  • ApproachRather than making the central teeth smaller, we first look at enlarging the neighboring teeth to balance the smile. If the central teeth do need reshaping, we keep it under 0.1 mm.
  • Design pointWe match the size progression from the central teeth to the lateral teeth and canines, and the line of the biting edges, to the curve of your lips when you smile.
  • TimeCompleted in one day with the one-day option.
04

Discolored teeth · Yellow front teeth

  • ConcernWhitening doesn’t brighten the teeth evenly, or certain teeth look darker than the rest.
  • ApproachWe check the underlying tooth color so it won’t show through, then cover the color with veneers, no-prep or with minimal-prep under 0.1 mm.
  • Design pointInstead of one uniform, overly bright white, we look at your skin tone and your lower teeth, and choose a shade that keeps the natural translucency at the edges.
  • TimeCompleted in one day with the one-day option.
05

Crooked teeth · Uneven front teeth

  • ConcernSome front teeth sit slightly back or forward, or at different heights, so the smile line looks uneven.
  • ApproachWe build up teeth that sit back, and only where needed reshape protruding areas by less than 0.1 mm, to even out the line seen from the front. If the misalignment is significant, we recommend orthodontic treatment first.
  • Design pointWe match the angle, edge height and visible width of each tooth so the teeth look neatly aligned.
  • TimeCompleted in one day with the one-day option.
06

How the one-day option works

Consultation, design, fabrication and bonding all happen within a single day. It usually takes 4–5 hours, or 5–6 hours for a larger number of veneers. There is no type of case that can’t be done in one day, but if you need gum treatment or treatment for decay first, we start with that.

These notes describe our general approach to each concern. The number of teeth, the scope of treatment and the results differ from person to person depending on the condition of their teeth and gums.

Concern guide

Can veneers fix your concern?

The same concern can have different causes, and a different cause means a different approach. Here is when veneers are a good fit, and when orthodontic treatment should come first.

Concern guide
ConcernCommon causesHow veneers approach itWhen we consider orthodontics first
Black trianglesReceding gums, or teeth that narrow toward the gums, leave empty spaces between the teethThin build-ups on the sides of the teeth reduce the gaps near the gums while keeping the tooth proportions rightWhen the gaps are wide or in many places, so building up would make the teeth look too wide
Gaps between teethExtra space relative to tooth size, or spacing from habits such as tongue pressureNo-prep build-ups add a little width to several teeth to share out and close the gapWhen the space is large and the teeth would have to be enlarged a lot, or there is also a bite problem
Small teethNaturally small teeth, or teeth shortened by wearNo-prep build-ups bring the length and width into proportion with your faceWhen the spaces around the small teeth are uneven
Bunny teethCentral front teeth that are relatively larger than, or sit ahead of, the neighboring teethEnlarge the neighboring teeth for balance, reshaping only under 0.1 mm if neededWhen the front teeth protrude so much that reshaping alone can’t even out the line
Discolored teethNatural tooth color, darkening after root canal treatment, staining of old resin fillings, and similarCheck the underlying color, then cover it with veneers to match the shadeNot a case for orthodontics; for mild discoloration, whitening may be considered first
Crooked teethNot enough room for the teeth, so they sit back or overlapBuild up teeth that sit back and minimally reshape protruding areas only where neededWhen teeth overlap heavily or the bite doesn’t fit
Veneer replacementExisting veneers that are chipped or lifting, discolored, showing margins at the gums, or a shape you’re unhappy withRemove them by laser and make new ones without drilling the teeth furtherWhen the old veneers looked unnatural because of the alignment of the teeth themselves

Whether veneers or orthodontics is the better choice is decided from photos and an exam. Blanche Dental Clinic works together with an orthodontic specialist, so if orthodontic treatment is needed first, we explain that option first. Learn about front teeth veneers →

01

What we look for in the “before” photos

First we check whether the margins at the gum line are visible, whether the color stands apart from the surrounding teeth, and whether the teeth look bulky or the wrong length.

02

How we remove them

Instead of grinding off the old veneers with a drill, we use a laser to release the bonding layer and lift them off. That is why new veneers can be made without drilling your teeth further.

03

What we redesign

We don’t simply copy the shape of the old veneers. Color, length and proportions are redesigned to suit your face and gum line as they are now.

Actual Blanche Dental Clinic replacement cases. Some materials and conditions make laser removal difficult, so we check this first at your consultation. Results vary depending on each person’s teeth.

Our photo policy

How Blanche chooses the photos we publish

For anyone considering veneers, before and after photos are the most important reference. That’s why we state up front which photos we publish, and on what basis.

Our standards for the photos on this page

  • We only publish actual cases treated and photographed by us at Blanche Dental Clinic
  • As a rule, we only publish photos of patients who have agreed to it
  • We show the same teeth of the same person side by side, before and after treatment
  • For each case, we note the concern and whether it was a one-day case or a replacement
  • We also make clear that results differ from person to person depending on their teeth and gums
How to read before and after photos

Veneer reviews: how to judge them accurately

Written reviews depend on each writer’s own standards. Before and after photos of the same teeth, taken under the same conditions, are the most reliable evidence.

What to check in before and after photos

  • Do the edges of the teeth meet the gum line naturally?
  • Is the color not too white, and does it blend with the surrounding teeth?
  • Do the teeth avoid looking thick?
  • Are the proportions right for the face and lip line?
  • Do the sizes step down naturally from the central front teeth to the neighboring teeth?
  • Are the boundaries between teeth defined, rather than looking like one solid block?

Things to watch out for in reviews

  • If the lighting, angle or distance differs a lot between the before and after photos, the change can look bigger than it really is
  • With only an “after” photo and no “before” photo, it’s hard to tell what actually changed
  • Written reviews vary greatly depending on the writer’s expectations and standards
  • Paid posts, or posts that repeatedly praise one particular clinic, may be advertising
  • Photos alone can’t tell you how much tooth was removed or how many veneers were placed, so ask about this directly at your consultation

In the end, the most accurate reference is your own teeth. Even cases that look similar may call for a different approach if the tooth size or gum shape is different. If you’d like to know what to look for in a veneer clinic, read How to choose a veneer clinic →

FAQ

Veneers before and after: frequently asked questions

Are these photos of real patients?
Yes. All of them are actual cases photographed at Blanche Dental Clinic. Results may differ from person to person depending on their teeth.
Did the patients agree to have their photos published?
As a rule, Blanche Dental Clinic only publishes photos of patients who have agreed to it.
Could my teeth look like these cases?
The approach depends on the size, alignment and color of your teeth. Send us two photos, one of your face from the front and one smiling, and a dentist will personally tell you about similar cases and the approach that may suit you.
Were the teeth in these cases drilled?
Blanche veneers are only ever no-prep, with no drilling, or minimal-prep, with reshaping of less than 0.1 mm.
Were these cases also finished in one day?
The cases by concern were completed in one day with the one-day option. From consultation to bonding, the one-day option usually takes 4–5 hours, or 5–6 hours for a larger number of veneers.
Are there cases that can’t be done in one day?
There is no type of case that can’t be done in one day. However, if something needs treating first, such as gum inflammation or decay, we start with that treatment. See one-day veneers
Can I find out how many veneers each case had?
The number and scope differ for each person, so we haven’t listed them with the photos. How many you would need is something we advise at your consultation, based on which teeth show when you smile and where your concerns are.
Can black triangles be treated without drilling?
Gaps between teeth can often be closed by adding a thin layer to the sides of the teeth, so we look at no-prep first. If the gaps are wide or in several places and the teeth would look too wide, we also consider orthodontic treatment.
Do bunny teeth require a lot of drilling on the central front teeth?
Rather than making the central teeth smaller, Blanche first looks at enlarging the neighboring teeth for balance, and any reshaping stays under 0.1 mm. If the front teeth protrude a lot, we may recommend orthodontic treatment first.
For crooked teeth, are braces or veneers better?
If the misalignment is mild, veneers can even out the line seen from the front; if teeth overlap heavily or the bite doesn’t fit, orthodontics comes first. Blanche Dental Clinic works together with an orthodontic specialist, so we can compare both options for you.
Can veneers fix discoloration that whitening can’t?
Even when whitening can’t brighten teeth evenly, such as darkening after root canal treatment or naturally dark teeth, veneers can cover the color. We choose the shade by looking at your skin tone and surrounding teeth together.
Can you replace veneers done at another clinic?
Yes. We can replace veneers wherever they were first done. We remove the existing veneers by laser and remake them without drilling your teeth further. See veneer replacement
How long do veneers last?
It depends on your care habits and bite force. For the warranty period of each plan and tips on making veneers last, see our veneer lifespan page.
How much would a result like these cost?
Per tooth: Blanche BASIC KRW 650,000 (≈ USD 480), Blanche PLATINUM KRW 850,000 (≈ USD 625) and Blanche Signature PLATINUM KRW 1,500,000 (≈ USD 1,105). The one-day option adds KRW 200,000 per tooth (VAT excluded). See total cost by number of teeth
Is there a fee for a photo consultation?
Photo consultation on WhatsApp is free. Send us two photos, one of your face from the front and one smiling, and a dentist will review them personally and reply.
