Online Veneer Consultation: The Two Photos to Send Before You Book Flights

Online Veneer Consultation The Two Photos to Send

An online veneer consultation should give you a real answer before you book flights to Seoul. Not a brochure, and not a price list with a countdown.

Many people hesitate to send photos for one reason. They wonder, “Will they just send me a sales pitch?” That is a fair worry when you are researching a clinic in another country.

So here is exactly what to send, how to take it, and what we can and cannot tell from a phone photo.

A note from Dr. Kim

I look at photos as if the person were sitting in front of me, and sometimes the honest answer is “not yet” or “let’s treat this first.”

“Minimal intervention, maximum beauty.” That is the standard I bring to every photo, including the question of whether Blanche no-prep veneers are realistic for your teeth.

What an online veneer consultation can and cannot do

Photos are a starting point, not a diagnosis. It is a bit like sending an architect photos of a house you want to renovate. They can tell you whether your idea makes sense and roughly what is involved. However, they cannot see behind the walls until they walk in.

In the same way, two good photos let a dentist judge the shape, size, and color of your teeth, and how they sit in your smile. The rest is confirmed in the chair.

The two photos to send for an online veneer consultation

Consultation at Blanche Dental Clinic

Photo 1: Your face, straight on

Look straight into the camera with your face relaxed. Include your whole face, from hairline to chin. This shows us how your teeth relate to your lips, eyes, and face shape.

Photo 2: Your natural smile

Smile the way you smile in everyday life, not a forced grin. This shows how many teeth appear when you smile. That number is the starting point for a tooth count.

How to take the photos on your phone

Blanche Dental Clinic, Gangnam Seoul

You don’t need a professional camera. First, stand facing a window in daylight. Ceiling light adds yellow tones and shadows.

Next, hold the phone at eye level. A phone held low makes front teeth look longer than they are. Ask a friend to take the shot, or use the timer.

Finally, turn off every filter. Many phones apply beauty mode by default, and it quietly whitens teeth. We need to see your real color, even if you don’t love it.

Keep your lips relaxed in both shots. If you stretch them, the smile line changes, and so does our count.

Optional extras

If you like, add a close-up of your teeth. Old X-rays help too, if you have them on hand. Neither is required for a first answer.

Can two photos really tell you that much?

Send us just two photos: one of your face straight on, and one smiling. We’ll reply with a rough tooth count, whether no-prep looks realistic, and which tier may fit.

What photos show, and what only an exam confirms

What we can tell from photos

From two clear photos, we can usually estimate three things:

  • A rough number of teeth that would need veneers
  • Whether no-prep is realistic, or minimal prep under 0.1 mm may be needed
  • Which tier fits the result you describe

For example, small or gapped teeth suit no-prep. Teeth that sit forward, large teeth, or very dark discoloration may need minimal prep. Either way, no-prep and minimal-prep cost the same. Our comparison of no-prep and regular veneers explains the difference.

Tiers run from BASIC at KRW 650,000 per tooth to Signature PLATINUM at KRW 1,500,000, VAT excluded.

What only an in-person exam can confirm

Some things don’t show up on a phone screen. Gum health, cavities, your bite, and what an X-ray reveals all need an exam.

If we find gum inflammation, cavities, or heavy grinding, we treat those first. Our guide to veneers with gum disease explains why. And if teeth are significantly crowded, we may suggest orthodontics first to preserve tooth structure.

What happens after you message us on WhatsApp

In-house dental lab work

Here is what to expect, step by step:

  1. You send two photos and a line about what bothers you.
  2. A dentist reviews your photos.
  3. You get a written reply in English with our honest first read.
  4. You decide what to do next, in your own time.

There is no obligation. We repeat every explanation at least four times, so ask as many questions as you like. You can decide later, at home.

What happens to your photos

Your photos are used only for your consultation.

Planning your trip after an online veneer consultation

Once the answer makes sense to you, then it is time to look at flights. We are a 30-second walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 4 in Gangnam, about an hour from Incheon Airport.

Plan 2–3 days in Seoul around treatment, because we recommend one follow-up check after the treatment day.

If you want to know what the in-person visit looks like, our veneers consultation guide walks through it. In short: photos first, flights second.

Frequently asked questions

Is an online veneer consultation free?

Yes. The photo consultation on WhatsApp is free, and there is no obligation to book anything.

Can you give me an exact price from photos?

We can give a rough tooth count and tell you which tier may fit, with prices from KRW 650,000 per tooth, VAT excluded. The final count and itemized costs are confirmed after an in-person exam.

What happens to the photos I send?

Your photos are used only for your consultation. A dentist reviews every online veneer consultation and replies to you in writing.

Side effects and individual differences

Temporary sensitivity, a foreign-body feeling, or mild gum swelling can occur. Results and longevity vary with each person’s teeth and habits.

When I teach other dentists, I tell them the first answer matters most, because it sets the tone for everything after. I would rather tell you “let’s treat your gums first” today than build a smile that struggles later. A smile that still works twenty years from now starts with an honest look at two photos.

How your first consultation works

1. We listen to your concerns and the smile you want.

2. Based on your exam, we explain every available option.

3. We give itemized costs and timelines. You are welcome to decide later, at home.

We repeat every explanation at least four times, and no decision depends on one person’s judgment alone.
