Dental Implants Korea Reddit Questions, Answered Straight

If you have been reading dental implants Korea Reddit threads late at night, you want straight answers, not a sales pitch.
That is fair. Clinic websites, including ours, are written by people who want you to book. So our rule here is simple. We use only numbers we publish, and we say what we can’t know before seeing your 3D CT.
Here are the dental implants Korea Reddit questions foreigners tend to ask, answered honestly.
A note from Dr. Kim
I understand why a stranger’s comment can feel more trustworthy than a clinic’s website, so I will keep this plain.
“No decision depends on one person’s judgment alone.” That includes yours: read, compare, and then ask us the hard questions.

Dental implants Korea Reddit worries about safety and brands

Is it safe to get dental implants in Korea?
Honest answer: safety depends more on the clinic, the planning and your own health than on the country. Ask any clinic the same questions. Who places the implant? Do they take a 3D CT? How do they plan the position?
At Blanche, implant surgery is done by Dr. Kim Tae-hyung and Dr. Kim Ha-young. We use 3D CT and digital guided surgery, and our six dentists average more than 15 years of experience.
Your health matters too. Smoking, diabetes and gum disease can all affect healing, so tell us about them early.
Are Korean implants as good as Straumann?
We won’t rank brands for you. Megagen is a Korean implant manufacturer, and Straumann is a Swiss one.
We offer both: Megagen AnyOne at KRW 800,000, Megagen BlueDiamond at KRW 1,000,000, and Straumann at KRW 2,300,000 per implant. In 2024, Blanche placed more Straumann implants than any other dental clinic in Gangnam.
Which fits depends on your case and budget, and we explain each option first.
Money: what it really costs

How much do dental implants in Korea really cost?
Our published fee per implant includes the abutment and a zirconia crown, so everything for that tooth is included.
Extra costs come in if your CT shows you need more bone. A bone graft is KRW 300,000 (simple) or KRW 500,000 (complex). A sinus lift is KRW 500,000 per tooth with the crestal approach, or KRW 2,000,000 per site with the lateral approach.
Your final, itemized cost is confirmed after our own 3D CT in Seoul.
Is there a foreigner price?
No. Korean and international patients pay the same published fees, with no foreigner surcharge.
Think of it like a restaurant menu with the prices printed on it. The price does not change with the accent of the person ordering.
Time and travel: trips and temporary teeth
How many trips to Korea will I need?
Usually four visits: surgery, then stitches out about a week later. After 4–6 months of healing comes a digital scan, and the crown about a week later.
If you can stay about a week each time, that means only two trips. Between trips, the implant bonds with the bone at home.
Can I get a temporary tooth so I don’t fly home with a gap?
For front teeth, yes. A same-day temporary tooth is possible, so you don’t fly home with a gap in your smile. For other teeth, ask us what applies to your case.
We are a 30-second walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 4 in Gangnam, about an hour from Incheon Airport.
“Can you just tell me what my case would involve?”
Send us a recent X-ray if you have one, or just two photos: one of your face straight on, and one smiling. We’ll tell you which options look likely and what they cost at our published fees, and you can decide later, at home.
After you fly home, and talking to us in English

What if the implant fails after I go home?
No dentist can honestly promise nothing will go wrong. Here is how we handle it.
Our implants come with a two-year warranty. If a problem comes up after you return home, we help you get follow-up care in your own country.
Daily care and regular check-ups at home also help protect it.
Do the dentists actually speak English?
Yes. Dr. Kim Tae-hyung and Dr. Kim Ha-young, who perform implant surgery, both speak English.

An actual case treated at Blanche Dental Clinic. Results vary with each patient’s dental condition.
Frequently asked questions
Should I trust dental implants Korea Reddit price estimates?
Treat any price you read online, including ours, as a starting point. Our published fees per implant include the abutment and zirconia crown. Your final plan needs our own 3D CT in Seoul.
Will I definitely need a bone graft?
Not always. Only a 3D CT shows whether you have enough bone. If a graft is needed, a simple graft is KRW 300,000 and a complex graft is KRW 500,000.
Can I get a consultation before I book flights?
Yes. Send a recent X-ray or two photos on WhatsApp for a free consultation. You can decide later, at home, and the final plan is made after our own 3D CT in Seoul.
Side effects and individual differences
Swelling, bruising, mild pain, or temporary numbness can occur after implant surgery, and healing time varies. Results and longevity depend on each person’s bone, gums, health, and habits.
Every plan we make starts from one idea: a smile that still works twenty years from now. So we keep your own teeth whenever we can. And I would rather give you a plain answer than a polished one.
How your first consultation works
1. We listen to your concerns and what you want to be able to eat and smile with again.
2. Based on your 3D CT and exam, we explain every available option, including whether a bone graft is really needed.
3. We give itemized costs and a visit schedule. You are welcome to decide later, at home.
We repeat every explanation at least four times, and no decision depends on one person’s judgment alone.
