Dental Implants for Expats in Seoul: English, Evening Visits, One Price

Dental implants for expats in Seoul come with a worry that tourists rarely have: you live here, yet you may not follow every word of the options and the consent.
There is a second worry, often unspoken. Will I be quoted a different price because I am a foreigner?
And then a third. What if my contract ends and I move before the crown is fitted? Here is how we handle each one.
A note from Dr. Kim
I understand how uneasy it feels to nod along to a medical explanation you only half follow.
“No decision depends on one person’s judgment alone.” That means you should understand your plan as clearly as we do.
Dental implants for expats in Seoul: the short answer
Living here makes implant treatment simpler. The usual 4 visits fit into ordinary weeks, with no flights.
At Blanche, Dr. Kim Tae-hyung and Dr. Kim Ha-young perform implant surgery, and both speak English. Korean and international patients pay the same published fees.
So the things to plan are your schedule and, if you might move, your timeline.
Understanding the plan in English, not half in Korean

Agreeing to surgery you only half understand is like signing a lease in a language you read slowly. You may agree to the rent, yet miss the clause about repairs.
With an implant, the “clauses” are things like whether you need a bone graft, which brand is used, how long healing takes, and what the warranty covers.
How we explain it
Your surgeon explains each option and its risks in English. We repeat every explanation at least four times, and you are welcome to decide later, at home.
Questions worth asking any clinic
- Which implant brand and line will you use?
- Are the abutment and crown included in the price?
- Do I really need a bone graft, and why?
- What does the warranty cover, and for how long?

Will I be quoted differently as a foreigner?

No. Our fees are the same for Korean and international patients, with no foreigner surcharge. Implant fees are per implant and include the abutment and a zirconia crown.
| Item | Fee |
|---|---|
| Megagen AnyOne implant (abutment and zirconia crown included) | KRW 1,000,000 per implant |
| Megagen BlueDiamond implant (abutment and zirconia crown included) | KRW 1,500,000 per implant |
| Straumann BLX implant (abutment and zirconia crown included) | KRW 2,300,000 per implant |
| Bone graft, only if needed | KRW 300,000 (simple) or 500,000 (complex) per site |
| Sinus lift, only if needed | KRW 500,000 per tooth (crestal) or 2,000,000 per site (lateral) |
| Sedation, optional | KRW 400,000 per session |
The 3D CT is included in the implant price. For front teeth, so is a same-day temporary tooth. We itemize any extras before you decide, and our guide to what the implant price includes explains each line.
Fitting four visits around work in Seoul
There are usually 4 visits. First comes surgery, then stitches out about a week later. After healing, a digital scan follows 4–6 months later, and the crown is fitted about a week after the scan.
Our hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday 10:30–19:00, and Tuesday and Wednesday 10:30–21:00. On Saturdays we open 10:00–14:00, and we open on Sunday every other week.
When you book, tell us your working hours, and ask which slot suits each visit. We are a 30-second walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 4 in Gangnam.
For front teeth, a same-day temporary tooth is possible, so you do not go back to work with a gap. For back teeth, ask us what applies to your case.
If you choose sedation, plan for 6 hours of fasting and an ECG check, and bring a companion.
What if I relocate before the crown is fitted?

Expat plans change. If you might leave Seoul within the next several months, tell us at your first consultation.
Healing takes 4–6 months before the scan. If you will still be here, the four visits are straightforward. If not, there are two sensible paths to discuss:
- Start now, then fly back for the scan and crown. That is a stay of about a week, the same pattern our overseas patients follow on their second trip.
- Wait, and start once you know where you will be living.
Once your crown is fitted, the implant has a 2-year warranty that covers the crown, the same for all three brands. If a problem comes up after you move, we help you get follow-up care in your new country.
“Could this fit around my job and my plans?”
Send us a recent X-ray if you have one, or just two photos: one of your face straight on, and one smiling. We will tell you whether a graft looks likely and how the four visits could fit around your week.
Planning dental implants for expats in Seoul, step by step
First, send an X-ray or two photos on WhatsApp. Next, come in for a consultation with our 3D CT, because the final plan always needs our own scan.
Then you receive itemized costs and a visit schedule to read at home before you decide.
Finally, book the surgery date with your work calendar and any moving date in mind. In short, dental implants for expats in Seoul are easiest when the timeline is set before day one.

Frequently asked questions
Are dental implants for expats in Seoul priced differently?
No. Korean and international patients pay the same fees. Implants are KRW 1,000,000, 1,000,000 or 2,300,000 per implant depending on the brand, including the abutment and zirconia crown.
Can my implant surgeon explain everything in English?
Yes. Dr. Kim Tae-hyung and Dr. Kim Ha-young perform implant surgery and both speak English. We repeat every explanation at least four times, and you can decide later, at home.
What happens if I move abroad after my implant?
If you move before the crown, you can fly back for the scan and crown in a stay of about a week. After the crown, your 2-year warranty covers it, and we help you get follow-up care in your new country.
Side effects and individual differences
Swelling, bruising, mild pain, or temporary numbness can occur after implant surgery, and healing time varies. Results and longevity depend on each person’s bone, gums, health, and habits.
When I teach other dentists, I remind them that a plan the patient cannot follow is not a finished plan. Before any implant, we also ask whether your own tooth can be kept. That is how we aim for a smile that still works twenty years from now.
How your first consultation works
1. We listen to your concerns and what you want to be able to eat and smile with again.
2. Based on your 3D CT and exam, we explain every available option, including whether a bone graft is really needed.
3. We give itemized costs and a visit schedule. You are welcome to decide later, at home.
We repeat every explanation at least four times, and no decision depends on one person’s judgment alone.
