Implant Bridge Korea: Do You Need One Implant per Missing Tooth?

Implant bridge Korea searches often start with several missing teeth in a row. Then comes a quote that seems to grow with every gap.
The quiet worry is simple. “Do I need one implant for every missing tooth, and pay for all of them?”
Not always. When the bone and bite allow, fewer implants can carry more teeth. Here is how that works, when it fits, and how we price it.
A note from Dr. Kim
I understand that worry. A row of missing teeth can feel like a bill that keeps growing before anyone has seen your X-ray.
“Minimal intervention, maximum beauty.”
What an implant bridge is
An implant bridge is a row of connected teeth held up by implants instead of natural teeth. A common example: three missing teeth, two implants, one bridge.
The two implants sit at each end of the gap. The middle tooth rests on the gum between them, with no implant underneath.
Picture a short footbridge over a stream. It needs solid posts at each bank, not a post under every plank. The implants are the posts, and the teeth are the planks.
Unlike a conventional bridge, nothing hangs from your own teeth, so the healthy teeth beside the gap are left alone. Our guide to implant vs bridge covers that comparison in detail.
Implant bridge Korea: when it fits, and when it does not

Whether a bridge can work depends on bone, bite and position. The number of missing teeth alone does not decide it.
Bone where the implants go
The implants need enough bone at the ends of the gap. A 3D CT, included in the implant price, shows its height and width.
If bone is thin, a graft may be needed: KRW 300,000 (simple) or KRW 500,000 (complex) per site. Our article on whether you really need a bone graft explains how we decide.
Bite force and length of the gap
Back teeth take heavy chewing forces, and a longer span asks more of each implant. Sometimes, therefore, one implant per tooth is the safer design.
The upper back jaw
In the upper back jaw, the sinus can limit bone height. In that case, a sinus lift may be needed: KRW 500,000 per tooth (crestal) or KRW 2,000,000 per site (lateral).
Most or all teeth missing?
When most or all teeth in a jaw are missing, a full-arch plan may fit better than several short bridges. See our guide to full-arch implants and follow-up at home.
Implant bridge Korea fees: per implant, not per tooth

Our implant fees are published per implant, not per missing tooth. Each fee includes the abutment and a zirconia crown.
| Implant | Manufacturer | Fee per implant |
|---|---|---|
| Megagen AnyOne | Korean | KRW 1,000,000 |
| Megagen BlueDiamond | Korean | KRW 1,500,000 |
| Straumann BLX | Swiss | KRW 2,300,000 |
The bridge tooth that sits between implants, with no implant under it, is not on our published fee list. We itemize it after your 3D CT and exam, together with any graft or sinus lift.
Sedation is optional, at KRW 400,000 per session. Korean and international patients pay the same.
So the useful question is not “How many teeth are missing?” Instead, ask “How many implants do my bone and bite actually need?” That is the number we explain after the CT.
One implant per tooth, or a bridge?
| One implant per tooth | Implant bridge | |
|---|---|---|
| Three missing teeth | Three implants | Often two, if bone and bite allow |
| Cleaning | Much like separate natural teeth | Also under the connected teeth |
| If one part has a problem | Usually handled tooth by tooth | The connected bridge may need attention as a unit |
| Cost | Per implant | Per implant, plus bridge teeth itemized after the CT |
Implant bridge Korea trips: four visits, two stays
For international patients, there are usually four visits:
- Implant surgery
- Stitches out about one week later
- A digital scan 4–6 months later, after healing
- The final teeth fitted about one week after the scan
If you can stay about a week each time, that means only two trips. Between trips, the bone bonds to the implants at home.
If the gap includes front teeth, a same-day temporary tooth is possible, so you do not fly home with a gap. For back teeth, ask us what applies to you.
We are a 30-second walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 4 in Gangnam, about an hour from Incheon Airport. Dr. Kim Tae-hyung and Dr. Kim Ha-young perform implant surgery, and both speak English.
“Could fewer implants work for my gap?”
Send us a recent X-ray if you have one, or just two photos: one of your face straight on, and one smiling. We will tell you whether a bridge looks possible and which extras might apply.
Cleaning and care after you fly home

The space under the bridge tooth collects food, so daily cleaning matters. A floss threader, special floss or small brushes reach underneath. A water flosser can help too.
Smoking, diabetes and gum disease can affect the gums and bone around implants. Please mention them early, so we can plan around them.
Your implants carry a 2-year warranty. If a problem comes up after you fly home, we help you get follow-up care in your own country.

Frequently asked questions
Does an implant bridge Korea plan need one implant per missing tooth?
Not always. If bone and bite allow, two implants can carry three teeth. We decide the number after your 3D CT and exam.
How is an implant bridge priced?
Implant fees are per implant, including the abutment and zirconia crown: KRW 1,000,000, 1,000,000 or 2,300,000 by brand. Bridge teeth without an implant underneath are itemized after your 3D CT and exam.
How many trips will I need?
Usually four visits over two trips: surgery and stitch removal first, then the scan and final fitting 4–6 months later.
Side effects and individual differences
Swelling, bruising, mild pain, or temporary numbness can occur after implant surgery, and healing time varies. Results and longevity depend on each person’s bone, gums, health, and habits.
When I teach other dentists, I remind them that the right number of implants is the smallest number that will still hold up for years. We keep your own teeth whenever we can, and plan for a smile that still works twenty years from now.
How your first consultation works
1. We listen to your concerns and what you want to be able to eat and smile with again.
2. Based on your 3D CT and exam, we explain every available option, including whether a bone graft is really needed.
3. We give itemized costs and a visit schedule. You are welcome to decide later, at home.
We repeat every explanation at least four times, and no decision depends on one person’s judgment alone.
