Veneers in Korea vs Turkey: How to Avoid Shaved Stumps, Wherever You Fly

If you are weighing veneers in Korea vs Turkey, you have probably watched the videos. Small, filed-down teeth before. Thick, flat, very white teeth after. Then the comments ask whether that person can ever go back.
Price and trip length matter. However, the real question underneath is quieter: “Will I end up with shaved stumps?”
I will not tell you which country to choose. Instead, here is the system to check, wherever you fly.
A note from Dr. Kim
I understand that fear, because enamel is the one part of you that never grows back.
“Why damage a tooth worth more than you can price? Blanche started from that question.” That is why Blanche no-prep veneers remove nothing at all, or less than 0.1 mm when a little is truly needed.
What the “Turkey teeth” videos are really showing
Most of those results are not a veneer problem. They show teeth filed down into small pegs so that full crowns can slide over them. Then the result is called “veneers.”
A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front of a tooth. A crown is a cap that covers the whole tooth, so the tooth is reduced on every side. They are different treatments, and they should not share a name. For more detail, see veneers vs crowns for front teeth.
That said, this mix-up is not a Turkish invention. It can happen anywhere a clinic chooses speed over enamel. Many Turkish dentists do careful, conservative work, and careless clinics exist in Seoul too. So the country on the ticket tells you very little.
Veneers in Korea vs Turkey: compare the system, not the passport

Asking “Turkey or Korea?” is like asking which city has better tailors. Both cities have excellent tailors and careless ones. What matters is whether this tailor cuts your fabric or adds to it.
How much tooth is removed
Ask for a number in millimetres, not a feeling. At Blanche, we only do fully no-prep veneers, or minimal prep under 0.1 mm. Small or gapped teeth usually suit no-prep. Teeth that sit forward, large teeth, or very dark discoloration may need that minimal prep.
No-prep and minimal-prep cost the same. So there is no price reason for us to shave more.
Who makes them, and how fast
Some clinics send work to an outside lab. Ours goes to Blanche Lab, our in-house lab, where ceramists trained in France and Switzerland work beside the dentists. That is what makes one-day veneers possible.
The day itself takes about 4–5 hours, or 5–6 hours with many teeth.
Veneers in Korea vs Turkey: the questions to ask any clinic

Take this table to every consultation, in any country.
| Question to ask | Why it matters | Our answer at Blanche |
|---|---|---|
| How many millimetres will you remove? | Enamel does not grow back | None, or under 0.1 mm |
| Is this a veneer or a crown? | A crown means reducing the whole tooth | Veneers on the front surface |
| Who makes them, and where? | A distant lab adds days and adjustments | In-house Blanche Lab |
| Will I need anesthesia and temporaries? | Both often signal heavy shaving | Usually neither; anesthesia only if needed |
| How many days must I stay? | Sets your trip length and cost | 2–3 days, with one follow-up check |
| What is the warranty, in years? | Shows what the clinic stands behind | 1, 5 or 10 years by tier |
| What if one comes off after I fly home? | The worry you will have later | Keep it and bring it; if unbroken, re-bonding may be possible |
| Do foreign patients pay more? | Hidden surcharges | No; same pricing for everyone |
Price, bonding, and flight distance
When people compare veneers in Korea vs Turkey, price usually comes first. However, a per-tooth price only means something once you know what is made, and how much tooth it costs you.
Our prices per tooth, VAT excluded, are BASIC KRW 650,000 (1-year warranty), PLATINUM KRW 850,000 (5 years) and Signature PLATINUM KRW 1,500,000 (10 years). The one-day option adds KRW 200,000 per tooth.
Bonding quality is one reason prices differ between clinics. For example, we use an Ivoclar adhesive system, among the highest-priced bonding systems. It is biocompatible and resists edge discoloration.
Flight distance from your region
From Europe or the Middle East, Istanbul is usually the shorter flight. From Southeast Asia, Australia or East Asia, Seoul usually is. From the Americas, compare real flight times from your own airport.
“Could my teeth stay untouched?”
Send us just two photos: one of your face straight on, and one smiling. We will tell you whether no-prep looks realistic for your teeth, before you book any flight.
Follow-up after you fly home

A clinic can be excellent on the day and hard to reach a month later. So ask about revisions before you book.
If one of our veneers ever needs redoing, we remove it with a laser. There is no extra shaving and no separate removal fee. Revision is priced the same as new treatment, and it can be done in one day. Our guide to veneer replacement in Korea explains the steps.
Planning your trip to Seoul
We are a 30-second walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 4 in Gangnam, about an hour from Incheon Airport. We recommend one follow-up check after the treatment day, so plan 2–3 days in Seoul.
For the full one-day program — technology, pricing, and booking — see our One-Day Veneers page.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safer to get veneers in Korea vs Turkey?
Safety depends on the clinic’s system, not the country. Ask how many millimetres will be removed, whether it is a veneer or a crown, and what happens after you fly home.
Will my teeth have to be shaved down for veneers?
Not always. Small or gapped teeth often suit no-prep veneers. Teeth that sit forward, large teeth, or very dark discoloration may need minimal prep under 0.1 mm.
How long should I stay in Seoul for veneers?
Plan 2–3 days. One-day treatment takes about 4–5 hours, or 5–6 hours with many teeth. We also recommend one follow-up check afterwards.
Side effects and individual differences
Temporary sensitivity, a foreign-body feeling, or mild gum swelling can occur. Results and longevity vary with each person’s teeth and habits.
When I lecture to dentists, I repeat one idea. The enamel you keep is the enamel your patient will need later. Whether you choose Istanbul or Seoul, choose a clinic that thinks that way, for a smile that still works twenty years from now.
How your first consultation works
1. We listen to your concerns and the smile you want.
2. Based on your exam, we explain every available option.
3. We give itemized costs and timelines. You are welcome to decide later, at home.
We repeat every explanation at least four times, and no decision depends on one person’s judgment alone.
