Front Tooth Implant in Korea: No Gap in Your Smile Between Trips

Front Tooth Implant in Korea No Gap Between Trips

A front tooth implant is the one dental treatment other people may notice before you do. You smile at a colleague, stand in a team photo, join a video call. And one question keeps running through your head: will I walk around with a gap for months?

That worry is fair. An implant needs months to heal into the bone, and for international patients that healing happens at home, between two trips. So what fills the space matters almost as much as the final tooth.

Here is the short answer. For front teeth, a same-day temporary tooth is possible, so you don’t fly home with a gap in your smile.

A note from Dr. Kim

I know a missing front tooth can make you cover your mouth in every meeting, and I would like that to stop on day one.

Minimal intervention, maximum beauty.

Why a front tooth implant needs extra care

A back tooth implant mainly has to chew. A front tooth implant also has to look as if it grew there, in daylight, right next to your natural teeth.

  • The gum line. The gum around a front tooth forms a soft curve. An implant placed too deep or at the wrong angle can make that curve look uneven.
  • Thin bone. The bone over the upper front teeth is often thin. Sometimes a graft is needed and sometimes it is not, so we decide from your 3D CT. Read more about avoiding unnecessary bone grafts.
  • The neighbors. A crown that looks “nice and white” on its own can look wrong between two natural teeth. The goal is a tooth nobody notices.

That is why we use 3D CT and digital guided surgery. They let us plan the implant angle around the final crown, not the other way round.

The front tooth implant schedule: 4 visits, usually 2 trips

Implant surgery at Blanche Dental Clinic

For international patients, the usual plan has four visits. If you can stay about a week each time, that means only two trips to Korea. Our guide on how many trips dental implants in Korea take covers the timing in detail.

Trip one. First the implant surgery, then the stitches come out about one week later. For a front tooth, a same-day temporary is possible, so you fly home with a tooth in place.

At home. The implant bonds with the bone while you get on with life. This is called osseointegration.

Trip two. A digital scan 4–6 months later, then the final crown about one week after the scan.

What you can and can’t bite with the temporary tooth

Digital intraoral scanner

Think of the temporary tooth like a spare tire. It gets you home and lets you drive normally, but you would not take it on a race track.

So for these months, avoid biting hard things with it. Cut food into small pieces and chew with your back teeth. Whole apples, crusty bread and ribs are better cut up first. Meanwhile, talking, laughing and smiling for photos are exactly what the temporary is for.

If it ever feels loose or chips, don’t wait and wonder. Send us a photo on WhatsApp, and we will tell you what to do next.

Front tooth implant prices in Seoul, crown included

Every fee is per implant and includes the abutment and the zirconia crown. The pricing is the same for Korean and international patients.

  • Megagen AnyOne (Korean manufacturer): KRW 800,000
  • Megagen BlueDiamond (Korean manufacturer): KRW 1,000,000
  • Straumann (Swiss manufacturer): KRW 2,300,000

In 2024, Blanche placed more Straumann implants than any other dental clinic in Gangnam. If the front bone is too thin, a bone graft may be added: KRW 300,000 (simple) or KRW 500,000 (complex). Your itemized quote lists every item, and our implant cost guide explains what moves the total.

Could my front tooth get a temporary on the same day?

Send us a recent X-ray if you have one, or just two photos: one of your face straight on, and one smiling. We’ll tell you what your first trip would likely involve and what we need to confirm on our 3D CT in Seoul.

How the final zirconia crown is matched

Shade guide for matching tooth color

On trip two, we digitally scan the healed implant and the teeth around it. The crown is made in zirconia, a strong, tooth-colored ceramic.

Matching means more than a shade number. We compare color, edge translucency, texture and length with your neighboring teeth, and we check the gum outline that frames the crown.

Planning your two trips to Seoul

Send an X-ray or two photos before you book flights. The final plan always needs our own 3D CT in Seoul.

Blanche is a 30-second walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 4 in Gangnam, about an hour from Incheon Airport. Dr. Kim Tae-hyung and Dr. Kim Ha-young perform implant surgery, and both speak English. Sedation is available if you feel anxious.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a front tooth implant in Korea without walking around with a gap?

For front teeth, a same-day temporary tooth is possible, so you don’t fly home with a gap in your smile. The final zirconia crown replaces it on your second trip.

Can I eat normally with the temporary front tooth?

You can eat, but avoid biting hard things with the temporary. Cut food into small pieces and chew with your back teeth until the final crown is fitted.

How many trips to Korea does a front tooth implant take?

Usually four visits: surgery, stitches out about a week later, a scan 4–6 months later, and the crown a week after that. Staying about a week each time means only two trips.

Side effects and individual differences

Swelling, bruising, mild pain, or temporary numbness can occur after implant surgery, and healing time varies. Results and longevity depend on each person’s bone, gums, health, and habits.

A front tooth is something you show the world every day, so I plan it for the next twenty years, not the next photo. Where a natural tooth can still be kept, I would rather keep it. When an implant is the right answer, I want a smile that still works twenty years from now.

How your first consultation works

1. We listen to your concerns and what you want to be able to eat and smile with again.

2. Based on your 3D CT and exam, we explain every available option, including whether a bone graft is really needed.

3. We give itemized costs and a visit schedule. You are welcome to decide later, at home.

We repeat every explanation at least four times, and no decision depends on one person’s judgment alone.

Consultation — Message us on WhatsApp with a recent X-ray or two photos, or check our fee schedule. Same pricing for Korean and international patients.
