Veneers Korea vs UK: Is It Reckless to Have Veneers Done on Holiday?

If you are weighing veneers Korea vs UK, you probably have a private quote from home and a Seoul clinic open in another tab.
Then a quieter thought creeps in: “Is it reckless to have veneers done on holiday?” Perhaps a friend raised an eyebrow when you mentioned it.
It is a fair worry. In short, a trip becomes reckless when it is rushed or vague, not simply because it happens abroad.
A note from Dr. Kim
I would much rather you ask me hard questions now than book a flight on a hunch.
“Why damage a tooth worth more than you can price? Blanche started from that question.” It is the reason we make Blanche no-prep veneers.
Veneers Korea vs UK: careful planning or a reckless trip?
I won’t compare your dentist at home with us, because I haven’t seen their work. Instead, compare how each plan is put together.
A careful veneer trip has these in place before you fly:
- the clinic has seen photos of your teeth;
- you know how much enamel will be removed, if any;
- you know what must be treated first;
- there is a follow-up check before your flight home;
- you know the warranty in years.
If any of those are missing, the trip starts to feel like a gamble, wherever the clinic is.
Think of a tailor making a suit. A good tailor measures before cutting the cloth, and never cuts away more than the design needs. Veneers are similar: the design and the fittings matter more than the city on the label.
First question for any clinic: how much will you shave?

At Blanche, we do only fully no-prep veneers, or minimal prep under 0.1 mm. Both cost the same, so there is no price reason to remove more. Usually there is no anaesthetic and no temporaries.
Small or gapped teeth usually suit no-prep. However, teeth that sit forward, large teeth, or very dark discolouration may need minimal prep. Our guide to how little shaving is enough explains where that line sits.
If your teeth are significantly crowded, we may suggest orthodontics first, to preserve tooth structure.
Materials, bonding and very dark stains
Our BASIC and PLATINUM tiers both use Swiss ceramic. At PLATINUM, a senior ceramist hand-layers it, fired at about 800°C, with advanced shade layering.
For very dark stains, we may use e.max LT instead, and the extra cost is confirmed at your consultation. If colour is your main concern, read how much darkness veneers can hide.
Bonding matters too. We use the Ivoclar adhesive system, which is biocompatible and resists edge discolouration. Bonding quality is one reason prices differ between clinics.
Veneers Korea vs UK: questions to put to both clinics

Take this table to every consultation, at home or in Seoul.
| Question to put to any clinic | Why it matters | How Blanche answers |
|---|---|---|
| How much will you shave? | Enamel does not grow back | None, or under 0.1 mm; same price either way |
| Which ceramic will you use? | It shapes colour and translucency | Swiss ceramic; e.max LT for very dark stains (extra cost, confirmed at consultation) |
| Where is the lab? | Decides how quickly shade and shape can be adjusted | In-house, Blanche Lab |
| Which adhesive bonds them? | Bonding affects edge discolouration | The Ivoclar adhesive system |
| Does anything need treating first? | Veneers need a healthy base | Gum inflammation, cavities or heavy grinding first |
| What if one comes off at home? | You won’t be around the corner | Keep the veneer and bring it to us; re-bonding may be possible if it is not broken |
Our tiers and warranties
Per tooth, VAT excluded: BASIC is KRW 650,000 with a 1-year warranty, designed with CAD/CAM by a Blanche Lab ceramist. PLATINUM is KRW 850,000 with a 5-year warranty.
Signature PLATINUM is KRW 1,500,000 with a 10-year warranty, with Dr. Kim Tae-hyung in charge and gum contouring included. There is no foreigner surcharge.
Fitting veneers into a short trip
Many UK readers ask whether veneers can fit into a few days of leave. With our one-day option, treatment takes 4–5 hours on the day, or 5–6 hours for many teeth.
There is no case that cannot be done in one day; complex cases simply get more design time. Meanwhile, you can go out while the lab works.
The one-day option adds KRW 200,000 per tooth, because diagnosis, design, fabrication and adjustment are compressed into one day.
We recommend one follow-up check afterwards, so plan 2–3 days in Seoul. For the full one-day program — technology, pricing, and booking — see our One-Day Veneers page.
We are a 30-second walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 4 in Gangnam, about an hour from Incheon Airport.
“Would my teeth even suit no-prep?”
Send us just two photos: one of your face straight on, and one smiling. We will tell you whether no-prep or minimal prep looks likely, before you spend anything on flights.
Back in the UK: aftercare without a return flight

Whichever way your veneers Korea vs UK decision goes, everyday care at home does most of the work. With proper care and regular check-ups, veneers can last over 10 years, and 20–30 years or more, depending on care.
If a veneer ever comes off, keep it and bring it. If it is not broken, re-bonding may be possible.
And if one needs redoing, we remove it with a laser, without extra shaving or a removal fee. Revision costs the same as new treatment. Our veneers aftercare guide covers the first week and beyond.

Frequently asked questions
How should I compare veneers Korea vs UK quotes?
Compare the same points on both: how much enamel is removed, which ceramic is used, where the lab is, which adhesive is used, and the warranty in years. At Blanche, pricing is the same for Korean and international patients.
Is it reckless to have veneers done on holiday?
It depends on the planning, not the holiday. Send photos before you book, plan 2–3 days in Seoul for one follow-up check, and know what to do if a veneer comes off.
Do UK patients pay more at Blanche?
No. Pricing is the same for everyone: KRW 650,000, 850,000 or 1,500,000 per tooth by tier, VAT excluded.
Side effects and individual differences
Temporary sensitivity, a foreign-body feeling, or mild gum swelling can occur. Results and longevity vary with each person’s teeth and habits.
When I lecture to dentists, I tell them what I am telling you. The country matters less than the amount of tooth you keep. Choose the plan that saves enamel first, for a smile that still works twenty years from now.
How your first consultation works
1. We listen to your concerns and the smile you want.
2. Based on your exam, we explain every available option.
3. We give itemized costs and timelines. You are welcome to decide later, at home.
We repeat every explanation at least four times, and no decision depends on one person’s judgment alone.
